Heal Hearts Inc (formerly Healing Hearts Inc). was founded in 2008 by Alesia Rencher-McGlocton. This organization was started to provide information, education and support to domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. As a survivor of domestic violence, sexual assault, and loss of some close family friends due to domestic violence it was of the utmost importance for her to reach out, give back and assist others who were experiencing it as well because she saw the lack of education, services and great need for assistance in her community.

In September 2010 Heal Hearts Inc (formerly Healing Hearts Inc) was incorporated and recognized as a non-profit corporation in Detroit, Michigan. For the past fifteen years this organization has assisted both single and married women in the Wayne County Metro area along with their children who have fled abusive relationships and those who sought help for sexual assault. Our clients have received transportation assistance, rental support, assistance with safe shelter entry, hotel stays, clothing, counseling and other needed supportive services.

The organization has been maintained and self-funded by founder/Executive Director Alesia Rencher-McGlocton, her husband and by close family and friends since its existence. Alesia has sacrificed and went thru great difficulty but has persevered because of the love and passion she has for those who are or have experienced domestic violence and sexual assault.

Heal Hearts Inc has been blessed to have some great board members and some awesome volunteers. Our goal is to be able to purchase a building in the near future that will provide a larger safe space where the organization can expand, continue to provide even greater services for survivors as they continue to recover, heal and grow.
